Biographie de l'auteur

My name is Vilsoir Satine also known as Villy. I was born in June 13, 1989 in Haiti, La Gonave. My mother left me when I was a week old and my father left me one month after my birth. I grew up with my older brother Yvon Satine and two cousins Josias Presna and Adrenne Presna. I moved back and forth in the capital city, Port-au-Prince and La Gonave because of financial problems. I grew up almost by myself in a two bedroom apartment because my cousins and older brother was barely there for me. And that's when I begin to write poetries. Poetries were and still are the only way I can express myself. I don't have any friends or close relatives. I kept all my pain locked down inside of me because I don't have anyone to share what I'm going through. My godmother introduced me to my mother when I was 14 and when I turned 16 years. I moved to the United States of America in 2006. I started my whole life over again. I went back to middle school instead of college because I couldn't speak English. I speak French and Creole. I graduated high school in 2010 in Avon Park High School. I published my first poem when I was in high school for Haiti earthquake. I went to culinary art school, and I dropped out four months before I graduated. I moved to Gainesville to start a new life and pursuing my degree in Journalism. World Poetry Movement published one poem, "Loving you" and another with Great Poets Across America, "How can . . . " For National Poetry Month. I'm working on my next two books, "All Flowers Are Not Rose" and "The Crying Rose"
