My name is Alipio Fernandes. Being a Cape Verdean living in the United States in a multiracial community, surrounded by multilingual people, allowed me to become very fluent in speaking English, Portuguese, Cape Verdean Creole, Spanish, and some French. I've always had a passion for writing poems, quotes, songs, short stories, and comedies. I even learned how to play guitar so I could play and listen to my own songs. I wrote my first short story when I was seventeen years old, but I never published it. I also wrote two children's book in the past, but they were just a tool to help me in teaching my son how to read and understand stories as he was growing up. Now that I'm forty-three years old, I feel that I should share my stories and point of view in writing with the world. Hopefully I can reach and touch many people with this book.
