These are marmosets, one of the tiniest of the primates in the monkey world. They have white tufts above their ears and their fur is a marbled brown and white, dense and silky. At the end of their long tails is a brown and white stripe. They turn their heads in small jerks, and can climb trees like a squirrel, but have five digit hands and feet and perform like the monkeys they are. We read of our two young marmosets and their many adventures in their first book, Rose and Rita’s Journey. They fled their burning home in the Amazon Rainforest, traveled to Miami Beach in Florida, then on to a zoo in the mid-west of the United States, all the while looking for their missing mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, and friends. In the end, they find the missing troops in Prairie Park Zoo. Rose and Rita are happy again. In their second book, Rose and Rita in Prairie Park Zoo, unhappiness hits again when they lose the families once more. They must find them, no matter what it takes. This is the continued tale of our marmosets, the many delightful, new, and different kinds of friends they make, and their exciting adventures at their new home in the zoo.

After twenty-six years working in the Middle Island School District on Long Island, my husband and I decided to move to warmer digs. We settled in Coral Springs, Florida. I found a fun new career in writing. I, and several other writers formed the Coral Springs Writers Group. I joined Mystery Writers of America. I wrote mysteries and short stories. Two of my books, INMATE OF THE ROOM and DEADLY DEEDS, can be purchased online on Kindle and on Nook. My website, zeldabecht.com gives you a taste of those books and leads you to my short stories. ROSE AND RITA IN PRAIRIE PARK ZOO is the continuing story of The Adventures of Rose and Rita, which began in ROSE AND RITA’S JOURNEY.
