This isn’t a true story, but it could be one.
When author Edward M. Wolfe started noticing that many seemingly random acts of violence were occurring on a regular basis, he started asking why. What makes the average person suddenly snap?
Devon’s Last Chance is his theoretical answer, told with a nonreligious supernatural cast of characters who orchestrate the physical world as we know it.
Devon is a dark being who has been given one last chance to survive. All he has to do is convert one human to the dark side.
Lance’s whole life has been a struggle, but finally he is on the brink of experiencing success in his career and his love life. Then, Devon sets out to destroy everything good in Lance’s life, one by one.
Soon, Lance’s world is worse than ever before. Can he sift through the dreams, mind manipulations, and real-life drama in time to prevent all-out catastrophe before it’s too late? Or will Devon’s last chance turn into a dark success?
A fresh spin on the good versus evil story, Devon’s Last Chance addresses the issues of moral consequences and the why behind the what, from both inside and outside the astral plane.

Edward M. Wolfe is an author and a musician. His short story, “When Everything Changed,” was selected for the 2014 Word Branch Publishing Science Fiction Anthology. His musical interests include writing songs, playing guitar and keyboards, and singing.
Having lived through more than his fair share of hard knocks, bad luck incidences, and brushes with death, Wolfe has studied the paranormal in search of answers. His book was inspired by personal out-of-body experiences and encounters with psychics, as well as a promise he made years ago to an encouraging teacher. Wolfe has corralled it all to create an expansive view of the world in his supernatural suspense novel, Devon’s Last Chance.
