Synopsis
Poetry and prose with COLOR ILLUSTRATIONS. In this first book of poems Danielle Notaro undertakes a quest to write the self on paper. The essence of self being notoriously resistant to description, she has limned it through interactions with the phenomenal world. These writings, which have unfolded over the course of thirty years, have taken Notaro on a trek through difficult emotional landscapes mining the gold in melancholy, the cure in the wound. Sometimes her task is to sit with paradox and sometimes it is just to sing the joy of life or the beauty of the natural world. The book is ultimately a celebration of the human capacity to love, in spite of all, because of all.

Biographie de l'auteur
Danielle Notaro has been writing, acting, and directing for a zillion years. She's taught acting and playwriting to all ages. She has published poems in Women Spirit, Gaia, Womankind and Juxtaposition. She's also written a few pieces for Healthy Living (a Rodale newsletter). She's read her work in Boston, New York City, Vermont, Philadelphia, and the Lehigh Valley. About Limn the Mask, Danielle Notaro says: "I originally collected these poems and prose pieces in three sections, from 1981-91, 1991-2001, and 2001-11. My editor suggested blending these poems through resonance and imagery. After handing them over to her, I read her rearrangement and loved it. Smaller poems allow the reader to breathe after some of the more intense ones. The work celebrates nature, love, and being. If you look closely enough you can glimpse some of the unintended full circle of my life."
