Synopsis

Volume two is a continuation in the struggles and persecution our ancestors went through to proclaim liberty in a tyrannical world. The translation of God's holy word into the English language was met with many obstacles until King James authorized what is known as the King James version. Even still the Church of England believed they had absolute power over God's holy word. Thus, the pilgrim's of 1620 became the first in America to worship God in truth and freedom in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God and Savior of the world.

À propos de l?auteur

Pearl L. Sturgis was raised a farmer’s daughter…the exact middle of eleven children. She was born in Harford County, Maryland in a small tenant house at the foot of Minefield Hollow near a little town named “Street”. She married her childhood Sweetheart, James Wilson Sturgis Senior, at the age of 16. She was a house wife, Mother of four, Grandmother of 10 and at the present time Great Grandmother of 7 babies (2013). She became a widow in 2008 after 51 years of marriage when her husband died of lung cancer. Several of her poems have been published through the years by her home town newspaper “The Star.” In 1985 she received a writer’s contract with broadcast Music Industries through public performance of several local Blue grass Gospel Bands. There are presently 11 songs cleared for airplay by BMI. Five song contracts took place in 1988 published by Glory Bound Gospel Band manager, Fred Martin, who now resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado and joined Band named “High Atmosphere.” Several National Magazines have published her poetry, such as “Teen”…”Home Life”…”General Health Care” and “Happiness.” In 1999 two booklets were published by grass roots group, “Citizens for God and Country”…Booklet 1) Who’s a Monkey? Booklet 2) Pilgrims Path to Freedom….s history of how the Pilgrims came to America fleeing from severe religious persecution. These little booklets are now being used for home schooling by the Chairman of the Bicentenniel Bill of Rights committee. Pearl received a diploma in 1990, for completing a two year course for Children’s Literature, out of Red ridge, Connecticut. Unfortunately a house fire stopped all progress at that time. The Sturgis’ started over from scratch and music went on back burner. Another set back was the death of her husband in 2008 but being snowed in with the many snow storms of 2010 brought the writing and music back into focus with lots of praying and Bible reading. Still another set back was when she received the diagnosis of breast cancer in May of 2010 but she is now in remission and ready to try it allover again.
