Lai Ming, a standing committee member and deputy secretary general of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), also serves as deputy director of the Committee on Proposals of CPPCC and vice chairman of the 12th to 14th Central Committee of the Jiusan Society. Being a professor and doctoral supervisor, he is a member of the Advisory Committee of the National High Technology Research and Development Program (briefly HTRDP Program or 863 Program).
