We must stop our President and Congress from pushing the USA down the road to Socialism by replacing their schemes with the sustainable plan for Liberty, Peace and Prosperity shown in this book! Citizens of the USA now face the same challenges and problems that our Founders did: repressive, corrupt, and excess government. The goal of this book is to define plan, consistent with the Libertarian philosophy (see p. 148 and LP.org), for government reform that will create the most Liberty, peace, prosperity, justice and ethics for all of its citizens. The prosperity part is based on positive incentives for people to be productive, with jobs and pay based on merit, as opposed to the perverse incentives of our current ‘redistribution of wealth’ approach where most people hope (expect, or demand?) to get money and benefits provided by others. The plan applies to all levels and functions of government (city to federal; executive, legislative, and courts). The emphasis is on the federal government, since it is the source of the biggest problems; fake money and how it funds wars, abuse, and corruption (see Appendix 1). The plan focuses on the core principle that ‘The government’s proper role is to PROTECT the rights of its citizens, as individuals, from violation or threat by others’. Notice that words like ‘manage our money, social system, and economy’, ‘mother, caretaker’, and ‘police the world’ are not included. The other side of this ‘protect rights’ approach means a person can do whatever they want to, short of violating or threatening the equal rights of others. Conduct some people view as a sin (abortion, drugs, gambling, homosexuality, etc.), but does not violate the rights of others, can be opposed by private, legal, and peaceful means, but are personal matters (none of the government’s business) unless you violate or threaten the rights of others (drunk driving, etc.), and should not be made illegal by force of law. Another non-legal issue is that one should be clean, courteous and honest to others, as a matter of civil conduct. Please read the examples and notes about the Core Principle in Chapter 4, Item 2. Notice that we are not ‘created equal’, but all citizens have equal rights under law. The corruption of vote-seeking elected officials is an old problem. The Roman Empire is a good example. The USA has a growing percentage of Socialists, Liberals, and Progressives who say the government should ‘manage’ almost everything at home, and ‘lead and help the world’ (the latter attracts Conservatives too, as a ‘police’ function). Now they have statist President Obama to lead them (see Glossary on P. 137). I grant that most of the citizens who call themselves Liberals, and Progressives (‘socialist’ has lost favor due to its failures) have good intentions to help ‘the people and workers’. The problem is that their projects do more harm than good (if all the side effects are counted) and the ‘Caring Progressives’ are often willing dupes to the self-serving officials who mostly want power and their cushy jobs, and care little for others. This book discusses how the USA got into its present economic, legal, and ethical mess, and presents a comprehensive, integrated plan on how to recover. It shows the cause-and-effect correlation between: 1. Government violation of our rights and the Constitution, and 2. The corruption and abuses we see around us. History and logic support how my approach will bring more Liberty, peace, prosperity, justice and ethics for all. Thanks for your interest.
