The Essential Book for Teaching Kids Body Safety and Boundaries
Do you struggle to talk to your child about safe touching? You are not alone. My Private Parts are Private! is designed to empower boys and girls of all backgrounds with the knowledge and confidence to protect themselves.
This storybook tackles the sensitive topic of personal boundaries and appropriate touch with clarity, warmth, and assertiveness.
What Your Child Will Learn:
Boundary Setting: How to assertively and confidently say “No” and “Don’t touch me!” to anyone who makes them feel uncomfortable.
Self-Respect: The importance of protecting their body and understanding that their private parts are private.
Open Communication: That it’s always okay to tell a trusted adult their feelings, and that sexual abuse is never their fault.
A Trauma-Informed Approach for Adults:
Designed for parents, caregivers, and professionals, this book helps you initiate discussions about sexual abuse and body privacy in a way that minimizes embarrassment and fear, focusing instead on self-protection and healing.
Interactive Features to Maximize Engagement:
Inclusive Illustrations: Vivid, imaginative artwork featuring children of different races and ethnic backgrounds builds rapport and encourages shared laughter and giggles.
Discussion Prompts: Open-ended questions follow each lesson to encourage children to explore their thoughts and feelings about safe choices.
Refocus Tool: A fun “Can you spot it?” exercise on every page keeps children engaged and provides a gentle way to refocus if they become distracted, anxious, or stressed during the conversation.
Give your child the lifelong gift of confidence and self-protection.
