William G. Perry is both an author and professor. He teaches computer networking and information systems in the UNC system. Dr. Perry, also, serves as an Associate Fellow for the Joint Special Operations University and is an academic council member for the Center for Security Policy. Dr. Perry did “proof of concept” intelligence analysis and research for the Army War College and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. He developed computer models that detected “over the horizon threats”. Perry is a former Naval officer and also has experience in counterintelligence and was trained by the National Security Agency on vulnerability assessment. Dr. Perry has coordinated and participated in various computer security workshops involving the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Central Intelligence Agency and U.S. State Department. Dr. Perry also served as editor on books related to the intelligence community and has made national presentations on protecting critical infrastructure and information warfare. Perry has also studied Russian and Chinese information warfare. Dr. Perry is the author of a number of technical books as well as Information Warfare: Assuring Digital Intelligence Collection which outlines the protocols for collecting and preserving computer information on the battlefield.
