Ruth H. Maxwell holds a doctorate in education, a master’s degree in special education, and a bachelor’s degree in child welfare. She is an established author of children’s books and short stories, contributor to many magazines, and now has her own blog. Ruth has written two historical fiction books. Her first, Eighteen Roses Red, is set in Revolutionary War times and chronicles a young woman's efforts to deliver a vital coded message to General George Washington. Her second, The Peshtigo Greenhorn, is the account of the most deadly fire in U.S. history.
