Born in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, Douglas A. Adamson enjoyed an idyllic childhood on the Monongahela River. In 1950 he moved to Indianapolis with his wife, where he studied at the Indiana Christian University, receiving a bachelor of arts degree and a master’s of theology degree. Though he did not pursue a profession in religion, the author has studied the Scripture throughout his life. He eventually became keenly aware that God wanted him to share his knowledge with others, and gave him the idea of producing a paraphrase of some New Testament letters, beginning with the three most difficult epistles, Romans, Galatians, and Hebrews. To do so, he worked with The Nestle-Aland Greek New Testament, including several versions, commentaries, and other writings.
