Synopsis
Three Fat Singletons is a story of friendship, love, loss and hope. We journey with Jesse, Dotty and Mary through the often hilarious, sometimes painful, obstacle that being overweight can bring to the pursuit of love after thirty. Mary, Dotty and Jesse are single, obese, and pushing 40; Dotty: a Christian virgin, Mary is a divorced Catholic and Jesse is a man-eating spiritualist. Together they explore the fat-underworld that is Big Ladies Paradise, Talking Hearts, Entertaining London, blind dates, internet dating, phone sex and the possibilities of lifetime celibacy. A week-long getaway to Greece throws them some unexpected challenges; romance, sex, adultery and horrific embarrassment, all of which lead to the revelation that what you get is what you need, not always what you want… or deserve.

Biography Hi I'm Joe Bartholomew. I'm 43 years old, married and am mother of one exceptionally gorgeous daughter! I don't know exactly how old I was but I remember being in primary school and my teacher saying in front of the whole class 'Goodness you are as heavy as I am' when she decided for some reason known only to her, to weigh all the pupils. I've been writing Three Fat Singletons for 12 years, and that is not a typo! This is not because I'm a ridiculously slow writer, but I, like many women today, have an exceptionally busy lifestyle and things got in the way. I'm hopeful that the sequel to Three Fat Singletons will only take a year - two max! Before losing nine stones in weight I personally explored the fat-underworld in London and all of the places mentioned in the book are in existence. I consider myself an expert in the issues fat singletons (and marrieds) face! To this day I still battle with my weight but am no longer morbidly obese x
