Cockroaches is an experimental stage work scored for chamber ensemble, six singers and offstage chorus which lasts aproximately ten minutes.The text was written by famous Polish writer, S. I. Witkiewicz, also known as Witkacy. This is an example of a composition using 'mantroch' technique. Printed in the traditional small format used for study scores, performance materials can be obtained directly from the composer.

À propos de l?auteur

Lindsay Davidson studied at the Reid School of Music in the University of Edinburgh - the first person in the world to finish any music academy majoring as a ‘piper. He continued his post-graduate studies with the double specialisation in composition and computer sound synthesis in 1996 and shortly afterwards started his pedagogical and performing activities, founding several pipe bands and a music school for which he developed a new system of teaching piping, adopted across the world. Lindsay is a qualified teacher, Deputy Head of an international school, and also holds a PhD in music. Lindsay has given concerts, recitals, workshops and papers all over the world; on five continents and approximately forty countries. He is Clan Piper to Clan Davidson, was Town Piper to his home town of Linlithgow from 1987 to 2001 (until emigrating) and also holds the unusual position of Court Composer to the Baron of Ardgowan. Lindsay has written a very comprehensive, free teach yourself bagpipes website which has proven to be very successful and also a teach yourself species counterpoint site.
