Spilled Ink is a triumphant and bold collection of poems, memoirs, and short stories, all created by teenagers at Writopia Lab, grades seven through twelve. This collection demonstrates not only the thoughts and narratives of these young writers, but also the courage they have to share their dreams and beliefs. These pieces represent a generation that rises above labels and boundaries, confronting readers with the power of the written voice. We invite you to crack open the spine, and allow yourself to be comforted, surprised, impressed, and blown away by the words between these covers. This book was designed and edited by interns at Writopia Lab DC; they, along with Writopia’s fantastic instructors, were privileged to work one-on-one with many of the young authors during workshops.
