Discover the Transforming Power of Stillness Before God — A 31-Day Journey to Deeper Faith and Peace
In our fast-paced, noisy world, true spiritual rest feels increasingly out of reach. Yet Scripture calls believers to a different rhythm—a quiet, expectant posture of the heart known as waiting on God. In this timeless devotional classic, Andrew Murray guides readers through 31 days of Scripture-based meditations designed to renew the soul, strengthen faith, and restore intimacy with the Lord.
Each day offers:
• A carefully selected Bible passage
• Murray’s inspiring reflection on its meaning
• A gentle invitation to slow down, listen, and trust God more deeply
With warmth and clarity, Murray explains:
• Why we wait on God
• What we wait for
• How waiting shapes our hearts
• The blessings, strength, and spiritual power that flow from a life of holy stillness
If life feels overwhelming…
If your prayers feel rushed or distracted…
If you long for a deeper awareness of God’s presence…
…this daily devotional will help you rediscover the joy of resting in Him. Murray teaches that waiting on God is not passive—it is an active, faith-filled expectation, a sacred time in which God renews the weary, guides the seeking, and refreshes the thirsty soul.
Whether used for morning devotions, evening reflection, or a month-long spiritual reset, Waiting on God offers a peaceful, structured path toward spiritual renewal. Let these 31 days draw you into God’s quiet strength and teach you, in practice and experience, the blessed art of waiting only upon Him.
A perfect devotional for individuals, prayer groups, Bible study companions, or anyone longing to slow down and meet God in the stillness.

Andrew Murray (1828–1917) was a South African writer, teacher, and Christian pastor. Murray considered missions to be "the chief end of the church." Andrew pastored churches in Bloemfontein, Worcester, Cape Town and Wellington, all in South Africa. He was a champion of the South African Revival of 1860. In 1889, he was one of the founders of the South African General Mission (SAGM), along with Martha Osborn and Spencer Walton. After Martha Osborn married George Howe, they formed the South East Africa General Mission (SEAGM) in 1891. SAGM and SEAGM merged in 1894. Because its ministry had spread into other African countries, the mission's name was changed to Africa Evangelical Fellowship (AEF) in 1965. AEF joined with SIM in 1998 and continues to this day. He died on January 18, 1917, four months before his eighty-ninth birthday. Over the years he has influenced many, including Jessie Penn-Lewis, a key figure in the 1904-1905 Welsh Revival.
