Synopsis

The Great Lakes Inventory and Monitoring Network (hereafter GLKN or Network) implemented the landscape dynamics protocol (Kennedy et al. 2010) at Isle Royale National Park (ISRO) in 2010. As part of the protocol, changes in land cover/land use are summarized and categorized for six of the more recent years, in this case 2003-2008. Landscape dynamics was ranked among the top five vital signs for national parks in the Great Lakes region (Route and Elias 2007).
