Synopsis

As he approaches 50 years old, recently divorced after a long and unhappy marriage, Clyde overhears a conversation that changes his life. After having resigned himself to a boring and lonely life, he overhears two men his age talking about their trip to Costa Rica and the women there that they had been with. And so begins Clyde's journey into a world he never imagined: a life of sex, adventure and misadventure. What follows is the story of his trials and errors, both romantic and otherwise, in tropical Costa Rica: a beautiful but mystifying and sometimes exasperating land far removed from his native Cleveland. Born and half-raised in what would become Silicon Valley, moved to California's Central Valley at the age of nine. Led a normal childhood with a reasonably normal family. Studied Psychology and American Literature at UC Berkeley. Studied Philosophy at CSU San Jose. Spent early adulthood trying not to be sent to Viet Nam. Succeeded. Professional musician (guitar and singer) for a little over a decade, then entered the wonderful world of Information Technology, where he learned to type. Avid reader all his life, retired from "real" jobs at 50. Currently writing, blogging and doing other artsy stuff. Lifelong (heterosexual) bachelor. Sometimes told he looks like Mike Ditka and always tries not to be offended.
