Synopsis

Mirlinda Dzafer is a mother, a professor of business at the University of Chicago, and the owner of an upscale sports bar, but the normalcy of her life hides a dark past. Spawned in a secret Soviet training program, she is recognized as the deadliest assassin on the planet. At the age of sixteen, she was forced to run for her life when five members of the Soviet program wiped out the others. She escaped to the United States where her first taste of freedom came during her academic studies in New York, but ended all too quickly when the five came after her. Trapped by circumstances, she had no choice, but to reverse the hunt and kill her pursuers. Her past called again when a Machiavellian plot to assassinate the U.S. president and vice president forced her to join forces with the FBI to take out five of the top six assassins in Europe. Now her hopes for a quiet life with her daughter Sanije are dashed when an assassin’s bullet narrowly misses killing her while delivering a series of guest lectures in New York. Wounded, she flees to Europe to draw the killers away from her daughter and to learn who is behind the mysterious organization pursuing her. But when they attack her daughter, they awaken the dark soul of a consummate killer, transforming her once again into the assassin known as Sasha, and when Sasha goes hunting, people die.

À propos de l'auteur

Mike is an unrepentant science, art, music, and wine geek, although he did try, unsuccessfully, to have a geekectomy. In a past life, he was a professional bass guitarist, but retired to try something easier—science. He has a doctorate in microbiology but has worked in the field of oncology for the past twelve years. Professionally, he has eight patents and numerous professional publications on subjects guaranteed to cure insomnia in a casual reader. Non-professionally, he has self-published nine novels. “Easier Killed Than Forgiven” is the fourth in the Death Whisperer series featuring Cailan Bane and friends. He also has five urban fantasy thrillers featuring Liam Michaels, the Angel of Death (but he’s really a very nice guy) and Etienne de Villaine, one of the most effective angelic assassins God ever created. His work allows him to travel the world where he constantly searches for the best affordable wines to accompany his voracious reading habit. You can find him on his blog at dmichaelolive.blogspot.com where he reviews the work of old and new guitarists and pairs them with an appropriate wine. He and his wife live in Lincoln, Nebraska, where Mike works consulting in the biotechnology industry while he starts a new company leaving him very little time to sleep. He figures he’ll get enough sleep when he’s dead.
