Susan B. Bailey, author of Animal Ballet, began dancing in her living room to strains of Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Bach, and Vivaldi for an audience of adoring family, friends, and dolls. She first developed a love for ballet when she saw a performance of Swan Lake, and her journey in the dance world began. After rigorous ballet training at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and various summer intensives including Pacific Northwest Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Hungarian Ballet Academy, and American Ballet Theatre, in addition to instructing, Bailey's ballet journey has come full circle and she now shares her love for dance with an audience of readers.
