Gayle M. Irwin has been a dog owner for many years and weaves her admiration for dogs with her writing. She has written and published several inspirational dog stories for children and adults. She is also a contributing writer to five Chicken Soup for the Soul compilations and has produced an ebook for blind dog owners, helping through through their journey with their beloved companion with insights she gained living with a blind dog for more than a decade. Gayle writes a monthly pet column for two different publications, maintains a pet blog, and volunteers with various animal welfare organization. She has served as a humane and conservation educator and continues speaking in schools, at libraries, and for various civic groups, sharing insights into pet adoption and care, the human-animal bond, and lessons people can learn from nature and animals.
