Raymond Watson was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The conflict in Northern Ireland has been a major influence on his life and art work. He was a member of the Irish Republican Movement and imprisoned as a result of the conflict. Like many other people from troubled zones he has witnessed and experienced dramatic events that have caused him to reflect on the meaning of life. He has developed a creative and humanistic approach to life, exploring the potential of art to help create a healthier society. The author continues to produce art work and attend international events and conferences dealing with art and cultural discord.
