Synopsis

Teachers will find the lessons set out in this book to be professional and informative. Lesson plans cover all essential aspects of an art lesson from, the art movement, artists involved with that movement, class computer research information, and class discussion material. Lessons are set out for years K - 2 and years 3 - 6, with extension lessons for years 3 - 6. Art language and how to write an art critique are also included. Images for each lesson are attached, to be copied or as reference material. Each lesson encourages students to make an individual art work that is unique to them. The Lesson plans are set out as guide-lines, so teachers can choose the parts that are relevant to the class they are teaching. Literacy and numeracy components are also incorporated so the art lessons may be included as a part of a teacher's whole integrated class program.
