Synopsis

We're headin inta the Superstition Mountains followin the clues in the 2nd record book we found hid in the monastery treasure we found in our first adventure. That's the one I told about in "The Monastery Treasure". Even though we gave a dire warnin to that no good skunk Uncle Timothy, we've got more of his scoundrels after us. We were blown away when we found out who a couple of them were. Uncle Timothy doesn't know about the 2nd record book we found, and the treasure described in it. He's still after the 1st treasure we found. When we head east instead of west searching fer the 2nd treasure, he gets mighty suspicious about what's goin on. Once we get to the Superstitions and find out whose trailin us yer goin to find the way we deal with them will send chills up yer spine. If we can find that 2nd treasure we now know there's another record book hidden in it tellin where a 3d treasure's hidden. Sam worked his brain to a frazzle on that 1st record book but finally got it solved. The 2nd one's a lot tougher.

I'm a grandfather, and great grandfather, and count those august titles among the greatest achievements of my life. Of course no grandfather, grand or great, can accomplish such an honored status without the grandmother, grand and great, and our children who help create such blessings. To all I am truly grateful. I spent many years as a university professor and dean, and then as an entrepreneur. I've always pushed myself to risk taking the next step in challenges I find daunting. Over the years I've written 1,000s of pages related to my career choices and know the rigors of writing. Some months ago I started writing adventure stories for my grandson. They were simply a means for me to share my love of adventure stories with him. I had not intended to put them before the public eye but my loved ones, including my grandson, encourage me to do so. So here I am risking that next step again in a challenge I find very daunting, seeing if you the reader will enjoy reading them as much as I have enjoyed creating them. I have thrown off the shackles of literary convention and resort to using the lingo of the late 1800's cowboy through Gramps who is the story teller of these tales. I look forward to seeing if you enjoy the richness of that lingo as much as I do. Here's to all the young at heart. Branton Holmberg
