In November 2009, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) received a technical assistance request from the Department of Jobs and Family Services at an Ohio county. The request asked for NIOSH assistance in examining rates of 2009 pandemic influenza A (H1N1) (pH1N1) and seasonal influenza (also known as the flu) vaccination among employees at licensed child care centers in the county.
