Synopsis

Tom’s parents have split up, and he finds himself on holiday in North Wales with his dad. Tom blames Dad for his parents’ split and can’t help feeling angry with him. Consequently, he vows not to enjoy the holiday, despite the endeavours of the relentlessly cheerful Bill and Irene, who are staying at the same hotel. But Tom isn’t the only one with problems, and when Tom encounters the children who used to live in the hotel in Victorian times, he embarks on a dangerous mission to change the course of history. Will Tom’s adventure with his new friends bring about any changes in his own life? Will things ever go back to the way they were?

À propos de l?auteur

Rachel Robb is a daydreamer and writer, who lives in Staffordshire. Early school reports suggested that she spent too much time with her head in the clouds. Well I'm afraid nothing's changed. She still has her head in the clouds, and that's where she thinks up the plots for her books and short stories. Rachel has published two books for children aged 9 upwards. The first, Finding Mr McGuire, is an adventure story and is set in England in 1946. The main characters, Margaret and Philip McGuire, are named after Rachel's parents, who were children themselves in 1946. Although written for children, the story is a source of nostalgia for anyone, who remembers the post-war years. The second book, Tom from the Future, is a fantasy adventure set in Llandudno, North Wales in both 2013 and Victorian times. Rachel spent many happy holidays in Llandudno as a child, and writing the book was an excuse to go to Llandudno and relive some of the memories. Rachel Robb is married with three children and a ginger tom cat. She also writes marketing content for small businesses and enjoys pyrography, which is another name for burning designs onto wood.
