Mike Mehalek writes fast-paced lyrical books that can be enjoyed with one reading but have enough substance for re-reading. He brings stories to life that demand to be told, regardless of the hopes/dreams/fears/desires of his characters-the Story first-always the Story. And Mike's been writing these stories since his first attempt at Only Human, which he wrote as a short story in first grade under the original title "Dennis the Dinosaur." It was not until 1988, however, with his first story rejection from Highlights magazine at the age of ten that he knew he was meant to be a writer. Today, Mike's work has appeared in anthologies like Hazard Yet Forward, literary magazines, and most recently he was a contributor in the award-winning writing guide Many Genres One Craft.
