The seventh Tarzan novel is set during World War I. Tarzan has been away from his plantation home in British East Africa, and when he returns, he discovers burned bodies, including one that appears to be his wife. Tarzan is not a happy camper, and he decides to take the war to the Germans in Africa his own way.
