Now I could feel that something was feeling its way along the side of the tent. As it was doing this it came up against my camp bed, and as a result I almost fell out of it. And then it was all over. Anxiously I whispered to Richard: "Are those lions by any chance?" No reply. Perhaps he had already fallen asleep again? He whispered back, "No, don't worry. It's only elephants. A whole family. We know them well and they know us, too."
