In the late spring of 1903, a small expedition set out to explore the unmapped wilderness of Labrador—a land of harsh beauty, treacherous rivers, and unforgiving cold. Their mission: to blaze a route that would open the vast Canadian interior to future travel. But what began as a bold adventure quickly became a desperate fight for survival.
In The Lure of the Labrador Wild, Dillon Wallace delivers a gripping true account of endurance, friendship, and tragedy in one of North America’s most remote frontiers. Through raging rapids, dwindling supplies, and unrelenting frost, the men are tested beyond their limits. The story is as much about human spirit and determination as it is about the untamed land itself.
Part wilderness adventure, part cautionary tale, this classic of exploration literature will transport you deep into the frozen heart of Labrador—where courage alone is not always enough.
