Synopsis

Samantha Whittaker, Sam to her friends, a beautiful and ruthless agent of the new British Counter Terrorism Agency (CTA) an elite group within British Intelligence with a brief to operate outside the niceties of International law; targeting - then eliminating all enemies. The CTA are ruthless hunters in a world where the threat of terrorism has escalated onto the streets. Life in the UK is harsh and paranoia is a natural state. Sam becomes concerned with the rise of Government intervention within the agency when targets selected for elimination appear to be politically motivated. A fellow agent vanishes and all record of his existence wiped from the records after voicing his objections. Sam is forced to turn to the unlikeliest source for help. Her actions do not go unnoticed. Seemingly abandoned by her own Agency she comes under attack from an unidentified organisation with the power and resourcefulness to operate a private army within Britain. She goes into hiding not knowing who to trust or who is trying to kill her. Working alone and hunted by enemies from all sides she discovers the power behind the organisation and how they have corrupted both Governments and Terrorists to create their own world. Squeezing it dry of power and control. They have one weapon with which they influence all administrations, dictating who lives and who dies; who prospers and who suffers. A weapon that has the potential to send the world to its grave. Against insurmountable odds Sam must find a way to destroy it.

À propos de l'auteur

Alan MacKenzie grew up in the East End of London under the shadow of the Royal Albert docks. Too late for the Rock and Roll fifties; too soon for the swinging sixties; but just right for the GlamRock seventies (and there are embarrassing photos to prove it). He studied Process Plant Engineering and joined an American Oil Company in the late seventies . A forty year career in the Oil and Gas industry as an Instrument Engineering has enabled him to experience life in many diverse environments working in Europe, Russia, the Middle East and North Africa. Alan has six children, including, three step children and now lives in Sussex with his wonderful and supporting wife. Time is now dedicated to writing the thrillers he loves so much. Alan has written fiction in one form or another since he was able to read, trying many genres. He said, "I write what I like to read; something with a bit of adventure, excitement and enough tension to draw you into the next page with that irresistible - what's going to happen next?".
