Synopsis
Jenny Harper writes compelling contemporary stories about modern women, their lives and their relationships. In this novel, set in modern-day Scotland, Kate Courtenay is a wind farm engineer who finds herself in a tricky position – both at work and at home. After fifteen happy years of marriage, Kate discovers that her charismatic novelist husband is spending more and more of his time with a young fan. She throws herself into her work, a controversial wind farm that’s stirring up tempers in the local community. Sparks fly when she goes head to head against its most outspoken opponent, local gardener Ibsen Brown – a man with a past of his own. But a scheme for a local community garden brings the sparring-partners together, producing the sort of electricity that threatens to short-circuit the whole system.

À propos de l?auteur
Jenny Harper lives in Edinburgh. She is the author of a number of non-fiction books about Scotland and aspects of Scottish culture (written as Jenny Carter), and also a history of childbirth, Birth Through the Ages, written as Jenny Carter with Therese Duriez. She has written a children's novel, The Sleeping Train, and a romantic novel (under a pseudonym). Jenny has worked as a publishing editor and as a freelance journalist, with a particular interest in feature articles and the applied arts. She ran a corporate communications company for twenty-one years and now enjoys walking and travel, and time spent with friends. She also learned silversmithing and makes jewellery.
