Jane Graiko is from Pawtucket, Rhode Island. A US Air Force "brat," Jane lived in Sembach and Darmstadt, West Germany from 1958 to 1962, and Misawa, Japan from 1965 to 1966. Overseas living provided a rich learning experience and opportunity for travel. Jane was a kindergarten teacher, news reporter for the Syracuse Post-Standard, public relations specialist with Stone & Webster, and program administrator at the University of Vermont. She culminated a 24-year career at UVM coordinating the McNair Scholars Program. Now retired, Jane's a wife, mother, grandmother, and lifelong reader and writer. In addition to years of published articles, photos and educational materials, she is a recipient of the Ralph Nading Hill literary prize from Green Mountain Power, published in the Fall 2010 issue of Vermont Life Magazine. The "A Customary Obsession" trilogy continues with "Power" in 2013 and "Privacy" in 2015.
