Ruth Koenig was raised on a cattle ranch in northwestern Colorado. She loves the outdoors; hiking, camping, fishing and horseback riding. She has a Bachelor's Degree in English. She was the editor of 'Genesis' a literary and art magazine. She has published several works of poetry. She was a feature writer for a weekly newspaper. Ruth's husband was a bareback and saddle bronc rider. Her son and grandson are team ropers. Her grandson is a three time state high school champion team roper and eight time high school and little britches finals qualifier. Ruth served as rodeo secretary for several years. She was the stallion handler on a horse breeding farm and worked many positions at race tracks in New Mexico. Ruth is the mother of eight children and the grandmother of 20 grandchildren. In addition to spending time with her children and grandchildren and writing, Ruth enjoys drawing, crocheting and ceramics.
