Synopsis

3 books in 1, suitable for ages 3-9 years, includes a colourful, illustrated story about a little boy, who doesn't know very much about caring for fish. He loses his pet fish, Boo, while attempting to change the water in its bowl. The fish disappears down the toilet and the boy is heartbroken. Boo, however, after a scary journey reaches the sea. He had been very lonely swimming in his bowl but as he explores the ocean he sees many amazing creatures and meets lots of new friends. They warn him not to go too far out but, he is having so much fun, he doesn't heed their advice. Soon he finds himself having another really scary adventure with a very hungry shark. His life is in danger but his new friends come to his rescue and all ends well. The boy gets some new pet fish and this time he learns how to care for them properly. The story is written in rhyme and, as such, can be used as an easy text for young children taking their first steps in reading, a bedtime story or an introduction into caring for fish. The story ends with a fun filled board game, Boo’s Great Adventure, reliving what happens to Boo after he is accidentally flushed down the loo - suitable for the whole family. The book also contains an eight page Fact section about Fish and how to care for them. Learn all about fish and how to look after them and other creatures in aquariums and the sea, with detailed photographs and interesting facts. À propos de l'auteur

Aileen Edwards is a retired microbiologist. Most of her working life was spent in her home country, Scotland with a short spell in Montreal, Canada and a brief period in Kaduna, Nigeria. She is married with two children and four grandchildren. Now that she is retired her hobbies are gardening and writing children's stories. Many of her stories are based on nature and, when her sister put her in touch with illustrator, Judy Mare, in Cape Town, South Africa, these stories took on a new dimension and came to life. Children's development and education are very important to her and she hopes her stories will engage them in this process and make reading and learning fun. Many of her stories are written in rhyme, which young children are known to enjoy but she hopes they will appeal not just to children but to their parents and grandparents as well.
