I have been working for over 30 years in Christian music ministry and I have pretty much seen it all: the financial successes and those who sacrificed everything, the fake Christians who think they can get ahead in the music industry by starting out in Christian music, and the true Christ followers, the bands that please God and the ones who poorly represent Him. Through it all I constantly encourage Christian musicians to increase the excellence of business in their ministry because the way we handle the business side of ministry demonstrates our integrity. The Bible is very clear that if we want to be entrusted with the true riches of ministry (people) we must do what is right simply because it is right with our money and our business decisions (Luke 16:11). Sometimes integrity costs us money, but God’s blessing has no price tag and He will more than make up for anything our integrity might cost.
