This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. In these lectures, Ottley's aim was to show that it is possible to regard as conclusive and to welcome many of the verdicts of the "higher criticism of the Old Testament, without necessarily accepting what is merely conjectural and arbitrary.
