Kathleen Stone is a National Board Certified educator with over thirty-five years of teaching experience. When not teaching she can often be found spending time with her family hiking, going to the ocean, or visiting neighborhood parks. Her other interests include quilting, reading, and volunteering at the local fire department as a Juvenile Firesetter Interventionist (teaching children and their families about the consequences and dangers of fire setting). She and her husband, Gary, live in the Olympia area.
Integrating children’s literature into math lessons is a very powerful strategy when working with young learners. In Riley the Robot, Kathleen Stone’s latest book, she introduces children to the concept of input/output (functions). The delightful illustrations and lyrical text will motivate and engage learners as they learn this new skill. Math is all around us No matter where you turn Open your mind to the wonders of math And all that you can learn
