This book is based on Kevin Brooks’s Lucas, which I read, which captured me and which helped me through one of my lonely and desperate moments. It set free a curiosity to find out more about what was going on in Lucas. Hence, I tried to imagine a background and with it a boy that would make complete Katy’s perspective in Kevin Brooks’s Lucas and that makes his action understandable. This book can be seen as the flipside to the story in Kevin Brooks’s book, but also as an answer which provides a new perspective telling a gripping coming-of-age story about the development from boy to man. However, finally, the motivation for this book is that I wanted to know more about Lucas and that I wanted to spend some more time with him.
