Synopsis

Max loves to run and play but sometimes he gets angry when things don’t go his way. His sister tells him what to do and he gets mad at her. Sometimes he pushes her and then he gets in trouble. He learns that timeout is a place to calm down and remember not to push or hit. Max learns that the quickest way out of timeout is to sit for his two minutes.

His mother loves him no matter what happens but she wants him to have fun with other unicorns and not get into trouble. Pediatrician and mother, Dr. Wanda Venters, combines humor and whimsical illustrations to explain why timeouts help little unicorns calm down when their world is too much. “Max Learns about TimeOuts” explains how overwhelming a small unicorn’s world can be and helps parents practice timeouts as an effective discipline for aggressive activity.

À propos de l'auteur

A native of Oklahoma City, Dr. Wanda J. Venters attended Yale for her undergraduate studies. She returned to Oklahoma City for her medical degree, and completed her pediatric residency in San Antonio with the US Army. Wanda has practiced pediatrics for three decades and has lived in Colorado with her husband for the last twenty-five years. She has three grown children, is an avid gardener, and golfs with more enthusiasm than skill. The Denver Post has published several of Wanda's articles, but she is proudest that the Post ran a feature on her garden. She began writing children's stories six years ago.
