Synopsis

Early twentieth century; Uri Greenbourg, in his early twenties from a privileged upbringing in Britain goes on an expedition to the Amazon rain forests. Collecting rare orchids he falls and is left for dead in a leech infested swamp. Emaciated, he is rescued by natives but acquires a vampire lust for blood during their tribal rituals. His best friend Matt leads a search party that ends in disaster, and alone he finds Uri... Through timeless years of nocturnal roaming into the swinging sixties they travel to many countries and familiar exotic places. But it's only to find an old adversary, the wealthy, young and suave Tristan Sackville, obsessed with their demise, is never far behind...

À propos de l'auteur

C D Pressdee was brought up on the Gower Peninsula. Fishing on rivers and the sea and appreciation of the countryside are life-long passions. Following years in restaurants and catering, he has written for various publications including The Times, Observer, Western Mail and BBC Good Food on food, wine, travel and country matters. He has presented many food programmes on television, radio and at festivals. His travels have broadened his culinary and life experiences, whether to mountains in Yemen, remote eastern islands, and many cosmopolitan cities. He has lived in London for over twenty years. His non-fiction publications include 'Welsh Coastal Cookery', 'Food Wales' and the 'London Oyster Guide'. This first published fiction 'Reflections of a Vampire' was inspired by his travels and the dark side of country life in many different locations. It is soon to be followed by 'Devil's Recipe' that relates broad experiences in the catering industry.
