Synopsis

Lila Cortez leads a lonely mundane life, until she meets up with a brash young cadet from New Mexico, named Rusty Begay. She agrees to attend a military ball with him, despite the fact that she has a boyfriend back home. They write to each other for several months, all the while falling in love. Complications arise, and she abruptly halts her correspondence, with no explanation, breaking his heart. He joins the air corp, becoming a helicopter pilot in Iraq. After his tour, he decides to track her down, and demand some answers. They become a couple, but a cloud hovers over their heads in the guise of her ex.

À propos de l'auteur

I am a former author of fanfiction, and decided to write this very personal story on the urging of a fellow writer. I was at one time, a Polynesian dance performer, and lived in Hawaii for six months, so I included some of those experiences on the pages of my book. My real life profession was as a clinical nurse manager at a hospital, supervising approximately 45 RNs and nursing assistants. My home is in Tempe, Arizona, where I live with my husband. My four grown children live nearby.
