Filter Design Techniques explains how to design analog, digital, and matched filters. It is intended for practicing engineers and scientists who have a background in Fourier, Laplace, and z transforms. Part 1 is concerned with analog Butterworth and Chebyshev filter design. Part 2 explains IIR and FIR digital filter design. Part 3 introduces adaptive design of templates for pattern recognition and matched filters for signal detection. The design technique in Part 3 takes into account both the signal to be detected and the differences and similarities to all the other signals or patterns. This is a unique feature not found in other textbooks.

Biographie de l'auteur

Dwight Mix, Emeritus Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Arkansas, is the author of five textbooks and numerous journal articles. This text is the filtered result of 38 years of experience teaching communication, pattern recognition, and system theory.
