Dak’s claws are eager to dig into the planet’s dirt. Though when the rebellious young dragon fails his all-important trials a fourth time, he fears he’ll never be approved to visit the land of humans. But his defiance takes a precarious turn when he secretly disobeys orders and tails his friends on a dangerous mission.
Horrified to discover his father will be punished for his offense, he’s shocked when the entire party falls under attack. And as the stubborn firebreather tries to rescue them from tragedy, he becomes entangled in rising tensions that threaten to bring his own demise.
Will Dak’s refusal to play by the rules come at the cost of his realm?
The Secret of Avonoa is the thrilling first book in the Avonoa epic fantasy series. If you like powerful beasts, intriguing worlds, and action-packed twists, then you’ll love H.R.B. Collotzi’s mythical adventure.

Parents are wrong. Teachers are wrong. His leader tries, but fails. The young dragon Dak can’t imagine why he still bothers to do as he’s told. However, dragon law could take his life if he disobeys, so he’s forced to pass the Krusible. The most important test in a young dragon’s life, the Krusible is the only way to gain freedom from the Rock Clouds where his dragon ruck lives, but he can’t manage to remain silent for it. If he doesn’t earn freedom, he might as well crawl into a cave and let his fire consume him. When Dak’s two best friends, Tog and Priya leave for an exciting mission, Dak is left behind because of his fourth failed attempt at the Krusible. Instead of remaining behind to endure his punishment, Dak does exactly what everyone feared he might, and secretly follows them. Once on the surface world, Dak quickly learns – in the face of temptation, savagery, torture and possible death – the significance of the secret of Avonoa.

Paperback. Etat : Good. The growing indebtedness of households reported over the last 30 years and in most developed countries has serious economic and social implications. This book provides insight into the concepts, measures, and determinants of household indebtedness, over-indebtedness, and well-being by integrating theoretical perspectives, adopting recent analytical methods, and using a sample of Polish households. The authors identified the socio-demographic and economic characteristics of indebted and over-indebted households, as well as the basic characteristics of indebtedness and the differences in its subjective perception among over-indebted households and those that are not over-indebted. They determined the spatial differentiation of over-indebtedness, examining the relationship between economic, social and behavioural factors and over-indebtedness and the role of over-indebtedness in shaping the economic well-being of households. The results of a questionnaire conducted on a sample of Polish households and econometric modelling served as the basis for assessing the economic well-being of indebted households. This assessment was conducted with the use of a composite well-being indicator developed by the authors. Given the multidimensional nature of the issues being analysed, the authors offer an approach that accounts for two separate but overlapping dimensions of economic well-being, namely material and financial, and two ways of assessing each of them: objective and subjective. The book holds appeal for researchers, scholars, and students of economics, finance, consumer economics, and economic psychology and offers practical guidance for policymakers and advisors who deal with consumer affairs.
