Soren’s mother, the Queen, is dead. Her younger brother Zaki has framed Soren for the brutal murder to claim the legendary throne of the Dragon Kings for himself, but Zaki’s position is vulnerable. Suspicion is rife following his ill-omened coronation, the mysterious disappearance of Soren’s sister - the other heir to the throne - and a crime ill fitting the beloved prince.
Prince Soren is forced to flee whilst trying to reconcile with his mother's death and sister's disappearance. He must also determine not only whether he is worthy to rule Caledan, but how to accomplish this when fate has left him with nothing but one old man.
Unbeknownst to Soren, other forces seek to help. Across the kingdom, his cousin Eve journeys to the ethereal Eldarkind on his behalf, but this reveals her own inescapable fate. Coming to terms with the gift and the curse of magic, Eve risks her own life as she tries to find Caledan’s missing princess.
Before the fragile peace inevitably shatters, can Soren reclaim the throne - and should he?

I'm Meg, an indie author/illustrator living in Yorkshire, England with my partner and our two cats Jet and Pixie. A Brief history I have my parents to thank for my vivid imagination – they fed my early reading and drawing addiction to the point where I spent years inhabiting the school library and hiding under the covers at night with a torch, unable to stop reading. At home, I had my own 'making table' covered in cellotape and bits of paper, where mum and dad contained my arty mess! I’ve loved reading, writing and drawing from a young age. The first story I remember writing as a child is about a clever fox (but thankfully that tale is long lost). At school, if I wasn't reading a book under my desk, I was getting told off for drawing in all my classwork books! My Inspiration Mostly I’m inspired by nature, great works of art and fiction, and my awesome writer & artist friends around the world. I'm really motivated to succeed at whatever I turn my hand to, and I like to experiment and try new ideas. I find being an indie author a tremendously exciting and motivating experience! I usually work best when fuelled by earl grey tea, margherita pizza and characters who won't do what they're told. Generally, I prefer to live in mine or other peoples' fictional worlds (where bills and chores don't exist) - I’m still holding out for my Hogwarts acceptance letter! Failing that, I'll settle for a nice hobbit hole in Hobbiton. A little extra I have a BA (Hons) degree in Primary Education and previously worked in accountancy after leaving school. I've completed both a variety of private commissions and my own design projects over the past decade, mainly digital fantasy/semi-realism paintings. In my spare time, when not writing, reading, drawing or fulfilling my other duties, I enjoy recurve archery, hiking, sleeping and cooking. I like to invent and learn languages too - I'm currently inventing the language of the Eldarkind, which is based on old/current Northern European languages, and learning some Slovakian too. Why not!
