Marilyn Hope Lake, Ph.D., writes short fiction, poetry, plays, and children’s picture books. She is known widely for her children’s book, BUDDY AND THE GRANDCATS, published in 2007, which has sold over 500 copies. Marilyn has won several awards for her fiction and poetry—most notably First Place in the 2011 Dr. Doris Mueller Poetry and Prose Contests for children’s literature with the story “Boots-The Black Sheep.” Dr. Lake has been published in Rock Springs Review, Stir, Well-Versed, and the Mizzou Alumni Magazine. She also is an award winning painter. Her love of life, family, friends, nature and God is seen in her work. She resides in Kansas with her husband/illustrator, Denton Warn and two canine companions.
