Are you a disgruntled teacher? Do you feel disrespected by your administration? Do you want to take back control of your classroom? Then this book is for you. Jeff Bower, an award winning actor, writer, and teacher, lays out the fundamental groundwork for becoming an exceptional teacher. Or at least for surviving until summer vacation! With the current surge in anti-teacher sentiment and the ever pressing problem of government assessment tests, being a teacher has never been more challenging in this country. But that shouldn't stop you from being the greatest teacher you can possibly be, and the first step is taking back what is rightfully yours: Your Classroom. Whether you're a first year teacher or a jaded veteran counting down the days until retirement, this book will help you regain your enthusiasm about the noble profession of education. From lesson plans to parent teacher conferences to spending a few extra bucks on your wardrobe, Jeff Bower will guide you in what made him a successful teacher. He'll also give you perspective and anecdotes to (hopefully) prevent you from burning out and leaving the classroom forever.

Jeff Bower, now a full time actor and writer in Los Angeles, was a high school teacher and adjunct college professor for seven years. He has a BA in Mathematics and an MFA in Acting and was a founding faculty member of G-Star School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida, eventually becoming Theatre Department Chair and helping to develop the award winning curriculum and standards still in place today. An annual “Jeff Bower Excellence in Theatre” is awarded to a graduating senior every year at G-Star, which Jeff finds both humbling and hysterical.
