Mark Feldstein was inspired to write Last Stop Before Rainbow Bridge because his stepfather, Al Feldstein, former editor of Mad Magazine, owned a 250-acre animal rescue ranch in Montana. After being entertained by a variety of sad and funny rescue stories about dogs, cats, llamas, goats, chickens, ducks, and horses, it became Feldstein’s passion to seek out more stories to share with his readers. Growing up in the Feldstein household usually consisted of Mark telling a joke and his dad editing it to make it funnier.
