Synopsis

It is only on a hiking trail—or in the tranquility of a garden—that we can begin to truly listen to our heart. With the hush of nature around us, we are able to hear the whispers of our faith, the nudges of the divine.

Seeking the Light is a transcendent collection of poetry, taking you from the unassuming power of being outdoors to the heartrending experience of living with an illness. Gail Wilson never shies away from asking the complex questions that plague her life. How do we survive challenging personal relationships? What is the meaning of life?

Every poem of this collection fearlessly strives to answer these questions while remembering the strength found out in nature. Each page is rich with moving imagery and haunting emotional honesty. Seeking the Light welcomes you into an intimate spiritual journey, an exploration of how it feels to be human.

Whether you are seeking a more meaningful connection with the landscapes outside your front door or are hoping to heal from painful personal relationships, this collection is a thoughtful meditation on what it means to be alive.

À propos de l'auteur

Gail Wilson was a lifelong writer of poetry who explored the written word with the same passion with which she explored the great outdoors. With a love for gardening and walking in nature, Wilson often contemplated spirituality and the meaning of life.

Wilson worked for many years as an occupational therapist, finding joy in caring for people of all ages, from children to the elderly. Some of her most treasured memories were of hikes taken with her husband.

After a battle with ovarian cancer, Wilson died on November 9, 2013. Seeking the Light was published posthumously by her beloved husband.
