Wendy Goerl still has not only the loom she got as a child, but the first potholder she wove on it. She wove five potholders, mostly with too many colors to discover any patterns, before getting bored with it. In college, she developed a new interest in weaving and wondered what she could weave on in the confines of a dorm room. She soon realized that there was almost no literature available for the potholder loom beyond the barest introduction, and many weaves common for larger looms don't work the same with looper weaving. She now has over thirty small-frame looms and is working to elevate potholder-loom weaving back to the "all ages" craft it was originally intended to be.
